One of the most nostalgic eras in OPM (Original Pilipino Music) comes from the 2000s rock bands such as Eraserheads, Parokya Ni Edgar and Rivermaya.
These iconic groups defined a golden age of Filipino rock, producing songs that have become timeless classics cherished across generations.
Tracks like “Kisapmata,” “214,” “With a Smile” and “You’ll Be Safe Here” are not just favorites as they are integral to Filipino family gatherings, karaoke sessions and singing competitions nationwide.

As a tribute to this era, Rivermaya is set to venture on a North American tour this September and October.
Following the overwhelming success of their February reunion concert, the legendary band—featuring “The Voice of the Philippines” coach Bamboo, Rico Blanco, Mark Escueta and Nathan Azarcon—is gearing up to reconnect with their fans across the United States and Canada.
ADVERTISEMENTThe tour kicks off on Sept. 8 in Vancouver, Canada, at The PNE “Pacific” Coliseum. Rivermaya will then travel to Toronto, where they will perform at the Great Canadian Casino Resort on Sept. 13. Their journey continues to Red Deer, Alberta, on Sept. 14 at the Peavey Mart Centrium.
Meanwhile, New York City will get its dose of Rivermaya magic on Sept. 21 at The Theater, Madison Square Garden.
In California, the band will make waves with an already sold-out show at the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula on Sept. 22. They will then grace the stage at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles on Oct. 4, and wrap up their tour with a performance at The San Jose Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on Oct. 6.
Presented by IAM Worldwide and Philippine Airlines, and brought to fans by Tiana Ent. and Live Nation Philippines, this tour promises to be a nostalgic celebration of Rivermaya’s enduring legacy. Recently, the OPM band has been on tour in different parts of the Philippines.
