Michael Pacquiao is following in the footsteps of his father, boxer-turned-politician Manny Pacquiao, as he has tried his hands at politics by running for councilor in General Santos City in the 2025 midterm polls.
The 22-year-old rapper filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in GenSan on Saturday, Oct. 5. He was accompanied by his parents Manny and Jinkee Pacquiao.
Article continues after this advertisementMichael is running under the People’s Champ Movement (PCM), the political party founded by his father. Also included in the said slate is Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao, Michael’s aunt and Manny’s sister-in-law, who is seeking re-election in the 2025 polls.

Michael has pursued a music career after he graduated from Brent International School in 2020. He has since released several tracks including “Only You,” Pac-Man” and “Hate.”
